History
Chai Latte comes from traditional Indian masala tea, which is brewed on black tea with the addition of milk and spices (cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, pepper). In India, it has been drunk everywhere for hundreds of years.
The term "latte" was added when the drink became popular in Western countries and began to be served in coffee shops like Starbucks in a more "European" form - with foamed milk, like coffee latte.
✅ Useful sides
1. Antioxidants
Black tea contains antioxidants such as polyphenols, which can support the health of the heart and immune system.
2. Spices are a source of benefit
Ginger: anti-inflammatory effect.
Cinnamon: regulates blood sugar levels.
Cardamom: improves digestion.
Carnation: antiseptic properties.
3. Milk is a source of calcium
If you drink it with cow or vegetable milk, it can be an additional source of calcium and vitamin D.
⚠️ Harmful sides
1. High sugar content
Many cafes contain a lot of sugar or syrups, which makes it a dessert rather than a healthy drink.
2. Caffeine
Depending on the strength of the tea, it can contain from 30 to 60 mg of caffeine - for sensitive people it can be a lot.
3. Lactation and spices
Pregnant or lactating women are not always recommended spices in large doses - it is worth consulting a doctor.
